Bats

Several species of bats make their home in this area of Florida. Each is very beneficial as they dine on pests that could very well ruin our gardens and orchards, not to mention pests that could spread disease to our families, pets and wildlife. The Lower Suwannee National Wildlife Refuge has a proactive bat house program for the Brazilian Free-tailed bat and the Rafinesque's Big-eared bat.
