Marine Research FWC - Open House

The Florida Fish and Wildlife's Marine Research Laboratory will host an Open House, highlighting the ongoing marine research-taking place in the coastal waters in and around Cedar Key. There will be exhibits and a lecture on Friday November 3, 2006, hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The lecture, Let's Dish About Fish – Monitoring The Fish Populations, will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:10 a.m. the same day.

Exhibits:

  • Fish of the Suwannee River Estuary - live exhibit of seldom seen fishes.
  • Learn and see how fish ages are estimated.
  • UF/IFAS Shellfish Aquaculture Extension - learn about research and educational programs in support of clam farming industry.

Directions:

FWC Marine Research Laboratory will be on the east side of S.R. 24 as you’re coming into Cedar Key. Please check-in at the NCBWE information booth at Cedar Key Beach Park.
