Kingman Turquoise

The turquoise in my jewelry was mined near Kingman Arizona and has been stabilized. Stabilized turquoise is treated to harden the stone. This is the standard these days since most of the high quality hard stone has been mined out. It is genuine turquoise and not dyed!

Natural turquoise is a soft, porous stone that can vary greatly in its quality. Softer grade turquoise has to be treated to make it usable for jewelry. The result is a stronger piece of turquoise that is easier to cut, polish and set by a jeweler. Stabilized turquoise can be produced in large quantities and is less expensive than higher quality turquoise.
